Greenwood Attends HTA South East Regional Event at The Farplants Group
Greenwood Plants recently attended the HTA South East Regional Event, held on 3rd June and hosted by neighbouring nursery The Farplants Group in West Sussex.
The event, organised by the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA), brought together growers, suppliers, and industry stakeholders from across the region to discuss key developments in the sector. Attendees heard valuable updates on horticultural policy, sustainability, and trade, as well as having the opportunity to share ideas and strengthen regional collaboration.
As part of the day, guests were given a guided tour of Farplants’ nursery sites and finishing centre. The tour offered a closer look at the scale and quality of operations across the group’s growing sites.
The Farplants Group is a wholesale supplier of outdoor plants and operates as a co-operative of four specialist West Sussex growers. Each grower brings their own expertise, allowing the group to offer a diverse and high-quality plant range. Since its formation in 1972, Farplants has grown into one of the UK’s most respected names in horticulture. The group now produces over 11 million plants a year across 70 hectares of covered and outdoor growing space, supplying more than 2,000 plant varieties and employing up to 500 staff during peak season.
Greenwood would like to thank The Farplants Group, the HTA, and Jeremy Costello for organising an informative and well-run event. It provided an excellent opportunity to connect with others in the industry and to gain insight into one of the most successful growing operations in the UK.
